Students of all ages and backgrounds are becoming familiar with satellite positioning.  I think they are interested in the high tech aspect of digital programming and the invisible power of radio waves.  The idea that radio waves from different sources can be transmitted to a reciever to determine location is Star Wars like.

Many schools do not have the budget to provide multiple units for the students’ use.  I teach maps, compass use and navigation with GPS.   I have been the recipient of many educational grants that allow me to bring my unique programs into schools and community programs.
